The Upper Lighthouse c1920. The men are Jack Thorne and his brothers. The first lighthouse on this spot was coal-fired and opened on 29 September 1716.

The Old Lower Lighthouse c1920. Note the uniformed nurse with the children on the right. The original lighthouse was constructed in 1789. This building is now a bird observatory.
